It's hard to find a good tasty granola bar in a store that doesn't have tons of sugar of doesn't cost a fortune.
These are super simple to make and you can add flavours to your liking.
I used a base of bananas, peanut butter and oats and then add more ingredients to it.
Peanut butter Granola Bars
Ingredients:
1/4 cup smooth or crunchy peanut butter (great on is with chocolate)
1 mashed banana
1/2 cup of oat or other milk
1-1 1/2 cups of oats (depends on the thickness of dough)
2 scoops of protein ( I used pea protein)
1/4 cup sweetener of your liking (sometime I won't use any and its' still good)
Seeds, nuts, coconut, choco bits, ... to the taste
Method: Preheat oven to 180°C. Line square tin 15x15cm (ish) with baking paper Mash banana and add the peanut butter, sweetener and milk. Mix well and add oats with protein powder and all other ingredients you are using. The texture should be like cookie dough ( a bit thicker) Transfer into prepared tray and place into the oven. Bake for about 20 min or until golden on the top and started to get crispy on the sides (depends on the wetness of the dough) TIP: If you like them, make a double batch, slice them up, wrap in foil as individual portions and place in the freezer. Once needed just place them in your purse or snack box and by the time for a snack they will defrost.
