How to make your smoothie bowl super-smoothie bowl? Add veggies.
No, I am not crazy. And no, I don't mean just any veggies. I wrote an article about smoothie bowls and how they can be big bowls of sugar I was advising on adding some frozen zucchini or cauliflower to your bowl so you can balance the nutrients and sugars a bit better.

This is my favourite winter/spring combination...
Blueberry Banana Super Smoothie Bowl
Ingredients: 1 portion
1 cup of frozen cauliflower
1/2 banana frozen
1/3 cup of frozen blueberries
1 scoop of protein powder of your choice
1 tbs flax seed meal
2 tbsp coconut cream
1/4-1/2 cup of warm water
granola for topping
Method: Place all ingredients except granola into the blender.
The trick is to use either a very good blender or use spatula and keep carefully pushing all the frozen chunky stuff to the bottom of the blender until it's nice and smooth.
You can also add more water to help to blend it, but I like my smoothie bowls ice-cream like.
Top up with granola and/or grains of your choice.
I like to use raw buckwheat, puffed up millet or bran.
