I remember days when I counted calories, restricted meals or times when I could eat, just to lose another kilo, to be happier, more confident and look better.
Hustling at a gym 5x a week, HIIT training, CrossFit, weights, running, you name it.
I was searching for the perfect way to eat, that would bring me sustainable results and the life I wanted.
In my head all these thoughts pushing me to go further, for myself and for my clients...
"I cannot eat what I want, I need to control my calories and portions..."
"I don't know what am I doing wrong, that my weight won't go down..."
"I want to just eat with joy and without fear of losing control and gaining weight, after all the effort I've spent on losing those last 2 kg."
It was a constant battle between my willpower, my conscious mind and my mind as a holistic nutritionist, knowing there must be an answer somewhere...
Something had to change...
It was taking a lot of time, a lot of money, a lot of energy and for almost nothing. I had to be honest with myself and see the hard truth. I knew what I was doing wrong but it took time and courage to admit it.
I had to look within my body and my mind to search for the answers and start listening to my body, instead of leading with the mind. I was educated to look for the complicated and scientific answer, yet the simplest and easiest thing was to listen and learn.
IT TURNED OUT THAT I HAD ALL ANSWERS, GUIDANCE AND TOOLS ALREADY HERE...
THAT ALL I NEEDED TO LOSE WEIGHT, HAVE THE BODY I LOVE AND JOY IN MY LIFE WAS TO LEARN HOW TO LISTEN TO MY INNER WISDOM
SO I STARTED TO CHANGE ONE THING AT THE TIME AND SOON ENOUGH SAW RESULTS OF MY OWN!
I listened to my body's messages to understand what my body felt.
I became aware of how the food was affecting my digestion, mood and energy levels.
I stopped following the mainstream and created my own eating recommendations and rules I stood by. These rules weren't restricting me, they were guiding me through a change.
I cancelled my gym membership and started to move the way that felt great for my body and enjoyed the amazing feeling doing it.
I was open to trying out new ingredients, new styles of cooking and introduced new foods and meals to my life with ease and joy.
I allowed myself to rest and take a break when needed without feeling guilty.
AND THE RESULTS?
I lost the unwanted weight I was carrying around my waist and upper thighs.
I had so much energy that I wanted to exercise every day or be active every day.
I was no more stressed or anxious and my mood has improved exponentially. I slept better and mornings were no more a downside of the day.
I could eat things I liked without guilt and my weight had stabilized to where I felt the best ever.
I had never felt sooooo great in my own skin.
